School Admissions and Appeals Advice Packages

APPEALS PACKAGES

For parents who have been refused a place at their chosen school (or schools) and who have been offered the right to appeal.  When you submit your request for an appeal you can  include a statement outlining the reasons why your child should be offered a place.

The school appeals process is a judicial system following protocols that are similar in many ways, to other legal proceedings.  This can be quite daunting to parents, who are not always aware of the role they are expected to play, and what their rights are.

Get in touch for a FREE 15-minute conversation to discuss your appeal and the options available. You can either call 07941 573727 or complete the enquiry form here.

ADVICE MEETING PACKAGE (Before the Appeal Hearing):           £99

For parents who plan to draft their own appeal statement.

Stage 1:  Parent(s) complete a short fact-finding questionnaire, giving basic details of their preferred schools.  This information will be used by the consultant to prepare for the meeting in Stage 2.

Stage 2:  One-hour online meeting to discuss strategies for approaching the appeal.  Are there any holes in the school’s arguments?  Have they failed to follow due process and comply with the Admissions Code and their own admissions policy?  What are the grounds for appeal, and what arguments should you put forward to present the strongest possible case for admission? What additional information is required to support your case?  How should you approach the Appeal Hearing?  What are the chances of achieving a successful outcome for your appeal?

Stage 3:  A confirmation email which will include your Advice Meeting Report with personalised recommendations for drafting your appeal statement.

STATEMENT PACKAGE (Before the Appeal Hearing):              £395

For parents who would like a Consultant to draft the appeal statement.  The appeal statement outlines all the reasons why your child should be offered a place at your chosen school.

We will support you through the process of drafting your appeal statement for submission prior to the appeal hearing. The consultant will go through your circumstances in detail and advise whether additional supporting documents are required.   We will then draft the statement and collate all the documents so it is ready for submission.  â€‹

Stage 3:  A draft statement for you to submit to the hearing.  This will be collated with any supporting documents. There will be follow-up discussions to refine the statement.

Please note: if you would like to appeal for more than one school, there will be an additional cost of £100 for each additional school (as each statement would need to be tailored for each school).

REPRESENTATION PACKAGE:                FROM £195

(Cost to be agreed when the parent has details about the hearing i.e. whether it is an online hearing, and whether there will be one or two stages.)

A consultant will act on your behalf at the appeal hearing.  This Package is for parents who have completed the Statement Package or Advice Meeting Package.  It is suitable for those who are not comfortable with public speaking or are worried about how they will cope in a judicial hearing.

There will be a briefing meeting with parents before the appeal hearing.  The consultant will accompany you on the day of the Appeal Hearing, and speak on your behalf.  This will involve questioning the school on their reasons for refusing admission and then presenting the case for your child’s admission to the school in the strongest possible terms.
